From Aunt Gina

John Carlo’s smile is so engaging, so compelling, so open, so full of enjoyment with the life he was living, it felt counter-intuitive not to join him in this joy! The photos show his tremendous capacity to explore: whether an art form, a landscape, or people in his landscape. A true seeker.

I love the photos of him carrying the camera equipment. There was no “slouching” under the weight of that equipment. It appeared a very part of him, catching and framing an object of his interest, a moment in time he wanted to preserve.

I love the photos of him as a little boy. We were so fortunate to see him often then, in his early years, before he ventured out to the world. I remember his gleeful eyes, and his quiet chuckles over the years at Murray’s spontaneous jokes and silliness during the many holidays we spent togeth…

From megan

to JC- the life of the party. The man of many hair styles, my cousin. You are greatly missed, every day. You were the reason the kids table wasn’t so bad at family parties! I’ll never forget the thanksgiving you graduated and we’re welcomed to the adults table. 10 minutes into dinner, you snuck away to come back to hang with us. Love you always!

Love forever, Love always

John-Carlo was loyal, inspirational, and spontaneous. He was a collaborator, instigator, and number-one fan. He was life personified. He was the one who would convince you that you were capable of accomplishing what you didn't think you could. He'd do almost anything to make you laugh, and it would always work. He took advantage of serendipity. He would help you recognize when to take life less seriously. He would travel for days just to spend time with you. And he would bring bagels. Thank you, John, for everything. Your parents, family, friends, and communities love you so much. Forever and always.
