JC GARDEN CLUB

His presence is felt most in Nature, in the quiet mornings, in the beautiful cloud formations, in the flight of the osprey and egrets over the river and especially at Branford Point.

It’s at Branford Point, our town beach and beautiful park, where as a little boy, John-Carlo covered himself from head to toe in seaweed and pretended he was a sea monster. It’s where he came to the summer family gatherings, the big ones with grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It’s where he loved a slice of every pie Aunt Jane made, he loved the friendly banter and loved spending a day with family.

It’s Branford Point where I plant daffodil bulbs every October since his passing.

“The Daffodil Principle” (Google it) is my secretive operation. Each year, I plant hundreds of bulbs in the early mornings of October. They will bloom in the springtime, the season…

Bagels and Cream Cheese

”you see what I’m talking about!? This isn’t even close to enough cream cheese for this bagel!” - JC after every morning bagel we got on our way to film for a National Geographic show we were working on at the time. We cracked up at how silly of a joke that was. The fact that it because something for him to repeat every single morning was perfect. It was classic. His silly joke about cream cheese started the morning off perfectly! Every morning.

Bagels and cream cheese make for a classic breakfast combo that's loved worldwide. The chewy texture of a freshly baked bagel perfectly complements the smooth creaminess of cream cheese. This pairing is an essential part of many people's morning routines, offering a satisfying blend of flavors and textures. Whether you prefer plain, sesame, or everything bagels, there's a perfect match for every taste bud. Moreover, the versatility of cream cheese allows for endless customization options—whether you're adding smoked salmon, fresh vegetables, or sweet jams. This is very Imp source, it's no wonder this dynamic duo remains an iconic choice for breakfast or a quick snack any time of day.

John Carlo’s smile is so engaging, so compelling, so open, so full of enjoyment with the life he was living, it felt counter-intuitive not to join him in this joy! The photos show his tremendous capacity to explore: whether an art form, a landscape, or people in his landscape. A true seeker.

I love the photos of him carrying the camera equipment. There was no “slouching” under the weight of that equipment. It appeared a very part of him, catching and framing an object of his interest, a moment in time he wanted to preserve.

I love the photos of him as a little boy. We were so fortunate to see him often then, in his early years, before he ventured out to the world. I remember his gleeful eyes, and his quiet chuckles over the years at Murray’s spontaneous jokes and silliness during the many holidays we spent togeth…

From megan

to JC- the life of the party. The man of many hair styles, my cousin. You are greatly missed, every day. You were the reason the kids table wasn’t so bad at family parties! I’ll never forget the thanksgiving you graduated and we’re welcomed to the adults table. 10 minutes into dinner, you snuck away to come back to hang with us. Love you always!

Love forever, Love always

John-Carlo was loyal, inspirational, and spontaneous. He was a collaborator, instigator, and number-one fan. He was life personified. He was the one who would convince you that you were capable of accomplishing what you didn't think you could. He'd do almost anything to make you laugh, and it would always work. He took advantage of serendipity. He would help you recognize when to take life less seriously. He would travel for days just to spend time with you. And he would bring bagels. Thank you, John, for everything. Your parents, family, friends, and communities love you so much. Forever and always.
