John-Carlo was loyal, inspirational, and spontaneous. He was a collaborator, instigator, and number-one fan. He was life personified. He was the one who would convince you that you were capable of accomplishing what you didn't think you could. He'd do almost anything to make you laugh, and it would always work. He took advantage of serendipity. He would help you recognize when to take life less seriously. He would travel for days just to spend time with you. And he would bring bagels.
